“The IX Chilean Congress on Arterial Hypertension was successfully developed, calling on national and international researchers in the area of Arterial Hypertension. The congress took place on the premises of the Autonomous University of Chile, and had the participation of health professionals from all over the country. During the congress, updates to the guidelines for the management of Arterial Hypertension were discussed., The prevalence of Hypertension was compared in both Chile and Argentina among other relevant topics.. In addition, The prize was awarded for the best work in clinical research presented by Dr.. Luis Toro from the University of Chile, whose work was titled: “effects of SGLT2 inhibitors on blood pressure and glomerular filtration rate in patients with chronic kidney disease.”: “Prospective Observational Study”. In the same way, The prize for the best work in basic research was awarded to Dr.. Hugo Díaz from the Autonomous University of Chile, whose work was titled: “Heavy alcohol consumption during adolescence causes persistent cardiorespiratory dysfunction into adulthood in laboratory rats.”: “role of oxidative stress and cardiac and brain inflammation”.
