Enfermedades cardiovasculares: Hipertensión y cardiopatías están entre las condiciones crónicas más frecuentes en pacientes con COVID-19

De acuerdo a la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) las personas con enfermedades cardiovaculares “parecen ser más vulnerables a enfermar severamente con COVID-19”.

De los 38 mil pacientes que han sido hospitalizados por COVID-19 desde el inicio de la pandemia en Chile, more of 12 mil sufren de hipertensión arterial. Asimismo, en los indicadores del ministerio de Salud se indica que entre las 10 condiciones pre-existentes más comunes también se listan la enfermedad cardiovascular (trastornos al corazón y los vasos sanguíneos) y la cardiopatía crónica (enfermedad del músculo cardiaco).
