They find a relationship between the temperature of indoor spaces and blood pressure

Investigadores del University College London publicaron recientemente en la revista Journal of Hypertension el hallazgo de una relación estadísticamente significativa entre la temperatura a la cual se mantiene al interior de una casa con la probabilidad de padecer hipertensión. The study was carried out in 4.956 participants, quienes en sus propias casas se les midió la presión arterial y se registró la temperatura del hogar. Los resultados indican que por cada 1°C que disminuye la temperatura, hay un aumento de la presión sistólica en 0.48mmHg y de la presión diastólica en 0.45mmHg. A pesar de que no se logró hallar un umbral para la temperatura a la cual se debiese mantener los espacios interiores, los investigadores sugieren que mantener una temperatura de 21°C es aconsejable para la salud en general.
