Department of Nephrology, Pontifical Faculty of Medicine Catholic University of Chile; member of the Chilean Academy of Medicine, Chile.
After studying Medicine and specializing in Nephrology, Dr.. Valdés completed a Research Fellow in Cleveland, USA. From 1972 He has provided care for hypertensive patients and undergraduate and graduate teaching.. She is a professor at the Catholic University of Chile since 1990.
In the last 25 years has been dedicated to investigating the role of vasoactive factors in the development and maintenance of the normal and pathological utero-placental unit.. From 1988 To date his research has been funded by 8 Regular Fondecyt projects. He has published more than 50 national articles and 49 publications in international literature. He has participated in more than 200 congresses in Chile and abroad with free communications, conferences and round tables.

Dr. Ernesto Schiffrin

Dr-Ernesto-Schiffrin

Internationally recognized expert in the field of hypertension, Dr. Ernesto Schiffrin has been the Chief Physician of the Jewish General Hospital (JGH), Head of the Department of Medicine and Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Prevention since joining the hospital in 2006. Besides, at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research at JGH, The doctor. Schiffrin is Canada's Chief Research Officer and Director of the Vascular and Hypertension Research Unit. He is also a Professor and Vice-President (Investigation) at the Department of Medicine at McGill University.

The doctor. Schiffrin was born in Buenos Aires, where he received his medical degree in 1969. He has lived in Montreal since 1976, obtaining his Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine from McGill University in 1980. He has held positions as professor of Medicine at the University of Montreal; Director of the Multidisciplinary Research Group on Hypertension and the Hypertension Clinic at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute; and was part of the Division of Internal Medicine at the Hôtel-Dieu Hospital of the University of Montreal Hospital Center (CHUM) until the end of 2005.

Dr. Robson Santos

Dr-Robson-Santos Coordinator of the Hypertension Laboratory since 1985. He has directed more than 30 master's students and more 25 doctoral students. It has more than 150 articles published in international journals, and most of these publications related to the neuro-humoral control of blood pressure and hypertension. He has held the position of professor since 2002. He was coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Physiology and Pharmacology of Biological Sciences (1991-1995) and head of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at UFMG ICB (1995 a 1999). He was president of the Brazilian Society of Physiology (2003-2005) and the Brazilian Hypertension Society (2004-2006). He is currently secretary of the Inter-American Society of Hypertension and president of the Scientific Committee of the Brazilian Society of Hypertension.. Coordinates the National Institute of Science and Technology in Nano-biopharmaceuticals. Dr Santos graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of the Itajuba School of Medicine in 1976. His Master's degree was in Biological Sciences (Physiology and Pharmacology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, under the direction of Prof.. Wilson Teixeira Beraldo, earning his degree in 1979. In 1983 obtained a doctorate in Physiology at the Medical College of Ribeirão Preto (USP) supervised by Prof.. Eduardo Moacyr Krieger and co-supervised by Prof. Lewis Joel Greene (1983). He did his post-Doctorate at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio (1986-1989).
